I don't find the article itself objectionable. I do find it hilarious that Trump thinks he's speaking intelligently though.
I mean seriously.
Can you honestly believe he understands what he's talking about? Even I know if you test positive for something medical related, it generally means you're sick with something. He also has a personal twitch with perfection and perfect.
So yeah. This is political comedy after all.

The fact that you're completely missing that he's trolling you, especially at this point, is what's hard to believe. This is right up Trump's sense of humor. That's objectionable, because the President shouldn't be trolling, and Trump does it all the time. It's one of the things that I dislike the most. But, jesus, if he's not super successful at it because you dolts just get rolled by it every damn time.

It's one of the things that I dislike the most Inversely, Trump being a twitter troll and twitter being forced to let him get away with it, is the one thing I appreciate the most about him. There's "grudging admiration of a well done troll" and then there's "wanting a troll for President, even a skillful one." I can do the former without the latter, and I do. There are times I go, "damn, that's a fucking brilliant piece of trolling," but it's immediately followed by, "why the fuck is POTUS trolling?!" Granted, Trump's not solely to blame here -- the media has decayed to the point that this is possible (both Trump as President and continuously, breathlessly falling for the trolling). The media, at this point, is a punch-drunk, boozy fighter that lost the fight awhile ago but is too stubborn/stupid to go down and is just trying to throw whatever they can in the hopes that something, anything, lands and they might just pull this thing out. This works for their equally punch-drunk fellow travelers who cheer on the wild hay-makers and think, "damn, but that's some good fighting, they're bound to win in a moment!" It's really something. But, then I recall that this is the President of the US we're talking about and the whole things sours.

Nah, the followers aren't punch drunk, they're the fans that know if they just cheer really, really hard* their guy will get back up and turn this bout around. Especially when every time their sides hits the mat, they throw their arm up in the air begging for the comeback cheer. * See also clapping for Tinklebell. I'm fine with Bozo The Clown-In-Chief. It's been a refreshing 4 years so far.

That's not refreshment you're feeling.... Actually it is. I've grown very tired of the lying ass news media and am quite happy we have someone in power who is punching back at them. Now if he'd take active swipes at FAUX news as well I'd be happier, but can't have everything. It was the best part of the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He dealt out shit at the 'cable news' orgs and was ruthless to them. Then he decided to retire and turned it over to someone who panders to the left*. * Stewart is a 'damned dirty liberal', but he was closer to 'classic liberal', which meant he was all up in the left's grill about the way they were slipping ever more authoritarian. And he'd call them to mat when they were stupid. I really wish he'd have been in the chair during the 2016 election cycle, I'd have loved to get his take on the DNC's foibles. And you can be damned sure he'd be holding their feet to the fire over the elder abuse that Biden is being put through at their hands.

Trump punching back? LOL. What you call 'punching back' I call whining. Most of his retorts boil down to: 'They're being mean to me!' 'Everyone who says anything bad about me is a dirty rotten liar, hoaxing, fake news, nasty question asking, liberal communist socalist democrat.' 'I'm the greatest in the world and they're just jealous. Just look at my ratings, that proves it.'
'I'm a stable genius.'
'My news negates your news.'
All the while flapping his hands at his 'enemies' and calling it 'punching'.
And yes, I know it's not exact quotes, but it is essentially what he's doing.
But if you call that hard hitting retorts, well far be it from me to dispute you.

Yes. Referring to them as 'fake news' to their faces on national tv where they can either eat it or cry about it is punching back. He's very much signaling he doesn't care what they say so there will be no parlay with them. Where as previous conservatives (and current conservatives in congress) very much kissed ass to CNN, MSNBC, etc, despite knowing those news outlets were gunning for them. Trump understands one thing well, "Never apologise to your enemy, they won't treat you well for it". It's won him his base, Why do think they consider him the second coming of Reagan? Because they think he's out there "fighting the good fight" on their behalf. Just like you mistakenly believe the left cares about you.

I was very disappointed that he was gone for the 2016 election and the years since Trump was elected. I don't like Trevor Noah, so I've stopped watching the Daily Show. Jon Oliver is good, but no replacement.

What he is is a blowhard bully. Whenever somebody hits back at him, he runs in a corner and cries. "I'm being persecuted, it's not fair! No president has been treated worse than me! Wah!" He's not hard-hitting. He's an insecure little shit who throws a tantrum whenever he doesn't get his way.
He's like the little kid who says he's the best baseball player, but when he's up at bat and strikes out, he says the dust is in his eye, the sun is too hot, the pitcher isn't throwing the ball right etc. When people correct him, he says I'm the best! I'm going home and you guys are paying for the window I broke because you can't pitch right!
So tell me, how is any of that presidential?

So tell me, how is any of that presidential? I don't care. "Acting presidential" has never been a requirement for me for the person who does the job. I mean, if that's all takes, GW Bush did a great job....

In comparison to Trump, GW Bush did a great job as president.
