Looks like Twitter is finally cracking down on the Donald's twittering. I expect epic meltdowns over this.
Trump says violent Minneapolis protests dishonor George Floyd’s memory, Twitter labels ‘shooting’ tweet as ‘glorifying violence’ news.yahoo.com/donald-trump-violent-minneapolis-protests-060125319.html
As the Minneapolis Police Department’s 3rd precinct building burned early Friday, President Donald Trump lashed out on Twitter, calling the city’s mayor “very weak” and saying that “thugs are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd.”
In a tweet just before 1 a.m., Trump said he couldn't "stand back & watch this happen to a great American City."
“A total lack of leadership,” Trump tweeted. “Either the very weak Radical Left Mayor, Jacob Frey, get his act together and bring the City under control, or I will send in the National Guard & get the job done right.”
Trump also singled out looters, who have damaged multiple businesses over the past few days. An AutoZone store was set on fire Wednesday night and Target announced it was closing more than 20 locations in the area "until further notice" after one store was ransacked.
"These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen,” Trump tweeted, adding that he had spoken to Gov. Tim Walsh and told him that "the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!"
At a news conference early Friday, Frey said he was unaware of Trump's tweets and asked a reporter to read them to him.
His response: "Weakness is refusing to take responsibility for your actions. Weakness is pointing your finger at somebody else during a time of crisis," the mayor said, striking the lectern at one point. "Donald Trump knows nothing about the strength of Minneapolis. We are strong as hell. Is this a difficult time period? Yes. But you better be damn sure that we’re gonna get through this."
Protests against police brutality and racial discrimination have been ongoing in the wake of the death of Floyd, a black man who died in police custody after a white officer pinned him to the ground under his knee on Memorial Day.
Tensions escalated Thursday night into Friday morning, reaching a boiling point when protesters gained access to the precinct, forcing officers to evacuate and setting several fires, according to the MPD.
Protests and violence weren't just a problem in Minneapolis. Violence broke out in cities including New York, Denver and Louisville, Kentucky.
On Wednesday, Trump addressed the death of Floyd for the first time, telling reporters he planned to receive a "full report" on the incident that he described as a "very sad event."
On Thursday, Trump signed an executive order designed – in theory – to make it easier to sue social media companies such as Twitter, days after the site placed a fact check label on two of his tweets.
The order calls for changes in regulations that shield social media companies from legal liability, the Trump administration cannot do that on its own. Those changes can only be made by independent agencies and, ultimately, the courts.
Trump has threatened to somehow punish social media companies for years, claiming they are seeking to suppress conservative views and even trying to influence the 2020 elections.
Trump again slammed Twitter Friday after the website attached another label to one of his tweets.
"Twitter is doing nothing about all of the lies & propaganda being put out by China or the Radical Left Democrat Party. They have targeted Republicans, Conservatives & the President of the United States. Section 230 should be revoked by Congress. Until then, it will be regulated!"

You're an idiot and Twitter's "fact" checking is having exactly the effect I hoped it would. Facebook is sweating bullets and the Zuck has already called Twitter to the mat over it.

Seriously? His little executive order won't hold up in court, number one, number two, it'll hurt him more in the long run than anything else. He needs Twitter more than Twitter needs him.

You're an idiot and Twitter's "fact" checking is having exactly the effect I hoped it would. Facebook is sweating bullets and the Zuck has already called Twitter to the mat over it. Seriously? His little executive order won't hold up in court number one... Once again you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. The EO is trying to push the FTC† and FCC to actively do their jobs and protect consumers from unfair practices on "public square" providers. This is completely within the President remit. He isn't changing the rules of Code 230, he's trying to get one of his underling organizations to do their jobs. Twitter (and Facebook, but Twitter is the worse of the two offenders) actively censor speech left, reight, and center when said speech is against their political goals. Not when its 'against the TOS'. Leftist routinely engage in active incitement to violence and declarations of intended violence and are left alone, but if someone on the right even hints at something, say the President stating that the National Guard would sent in to clean up the problem‡, then that 'righty' gets censored. † What can the FTC even do about it? I have no idea. But of the two, the FTC is actually run by someone likely to try, where as the FCC is actively run by Ajit Pai* who wants to turn the internet over to Big Tech to use and abuse it's consumers. ‡The literal wording of the tweet: “A total lack of leadership. Either the very weak Radical Left Mayor, Jacob Frey, get his act together and bring the City under control, or I will send in the National Guard & get the job done right.” I see no "incitement to violence" there. That's an incitement and promise to restore order. * Don't even get me started on Ajit Pai. I will rant for days. At this point, no it won't. If Twitter shut down tomorrow, it would only help him. His peeps know his thoughts on subjects, he's been shitting those thoughts out untempered for over 4 years. The lefties who are done with the DNC don't care about Trumps toilet takes, they're pissed at teh DNC's bullshittery. The centrists who are pissed about Big tech's censorship and thought policing, want that taken down, and they don;t see any other way forward except through trump. Open your eyes, stop just regurgitating leftist headlines, read the whole article, try to understand the situation from both sides (read non-lefty aproved articles), and stop being blind to the problems the Liberals are causing for the American people.

www.der-postillon.com/2020/06/erdoel-in-washington.htmlWashington (dpo) - Apparently huge oil deposits have been discovered under the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. This is indicated by the large number of US soldiers in front of the building, according to experts. "Based on the number and equipment of the military on site, an estimated oil supply of at least 400 million barrels can be assumed," explains geologist Joanne Hughes. "There is no other way to explain the presence of US soldiers." In the past, the US military had already attracted attention because of its keen sense for the presence of the valuable raw material - mostly in connection with rogue states that suppress their own population. "We can see that here too," said Hughes. "I expect the Lincoln Memorial to be blown up soon to make oil production possible. In return, the American people will be given freedom, justice and democracy."

Ivanka tries to be clever and invents a new whine:
Ivanka Trump has hit out at “cancel culture and viewpoint discrimination” after plans for her to give a virtual commencement speech to students in Kansas were canceled amid criticism of Donald Trump’s response to anti-police brutality protests in the wake of the killing of George Floyd. George Floyd killing: Washington protests swell as mourners pay respects at memorial – live Read more
Administrators at Wichita State University and WSU Tech announced their decision just hours after they had said the US president’s daughter would be speaking to WSU Tech graduates. Administrators of both universities, which are affiliated, said Saturday’s graduation for the technical university would be “refocused” on students, with a nursing graduate as the only speaker
The move clearly angered Ivanka Trump, who is a top adviser in the White House and whose husband, Jared Kushner, is one of the most influential figures in the Trump administration.
She responded in a tweet, saying: “Our nation’s campuses should be bastions of free speech. Cancel culture and viewpoint discrimination are antithetical to academia. Listening to one another is important now more than ever!”
She also released the video of the speech, in which she did not mention the Floyd protests but did acknowledge the challenges of graduating amid the coronavirus pandemic, which has cratered the US economy.
Seeking to reassure students now facing mass unemployment triggered by widespread shutdowns to curb the virus, the daughter of a New York real estate billionaire opined: “In my own life, I have found that my greatest personal growth has arisen from times of discomfort and uncertainty.”
The announcement of her speech drew immediate criticism, led by Jennifer Ray, an associate professor of photo media at Wichita State, who sent a letter asking school administrators to cancel it. It circulated on social media and garnered 488 signatures from faculty, students and alumni before the speech was canceled, the Wichita Eagle reported.
But others said the event should not have been canceled. Republican congressman Ron Estes said in a statement he was “disappointed” and added: “As Kansas faces many challenges recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic to get back to our booming economy, now is the time for us to be working together.”
Protests have broken out around the world since Floyd, who was black, died in Minneapolis after a white police officer pressed a knee on his neck for several minutes even after he stopped moving and pleading for air. Much of the response to the protests by American police has been brutal and acts of violence against demonstrators and media have been common.
Trump has refashioned his election campaign as a “law and order” president but came in for widespread condemnation after police attacked a peaceful protest in Washington in order to clear a path to have a photo op at a church, where he held aloft a Bible.
Ivanka Trump was part of the procession that made its way to the church and reportedly carried the Bible that her father used in her purse.

Trump being a snowflake again www.yahoo.com/entertainment/donald-trump-campaign-fires-off-182855820.htmlDonald Trump’s Campaign Fires Off Cease-And-Desist Letter To CNN Over Poll That Shows Joe Biden With Wide Lead
President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign sent a cease-and-desist letter to CNN demanding that it retract and apologize for a poll showing Joe Biden with a 14-point lead in the race for the White House. “We stand by our poll,” a CNN spokesperson said. A Trump campaign spokesperson did not immediately return a request for comment, but in the letter, senior legal adviser Jenna Ellis and chief operating officer Michael Glassner write to CNN chief Jeff Zucker that the poll was “designed to mislead American voters through a biased questionnaire and skewed sampling.” “Media polls such as these are designed to manufacture an anti-Trump narrative and misinform and mislead actual voters,” they wrote. “It’s a stunt and a phony poll to cause voter suppression, stifle momentum and enthusiasm for the President, and present a false view generally of the actual support across America for the President.” Irked by the poll’s results, Trump announced Monday that he had retained pollster John McLaughlin to do an analysis of the poll. In their letter, Ellis and Glassner wrote: “According to our independent assessment via the highly respected McLaughlin & Associates, ‘The CNN poll out today is another skewed anti-Trump poll of only 25% Republican. It’s a poll of 1,259 adults — not even registered voters, let alone likely voters. Also, it was done between June 2nd and 5th, before the great economic news from last Friday.’ Further, the questions and topics selected likely biased the poll further.” Trump often has lashed out at polls as “fake,” including those conducted by Fox News. Other polls also show Trump falling behind Biden, some with a smaller but still significant gap. The RealClearPolitics national average of polls on Wednesday shows Biden with an 8.1-point lead. The campaign requested that CNN retract the poll, which was conducted by SSRS, “by publishing a full, fair, and conspicuous retraction, apology, and clarification to correct its misleading conclusions.” They also claim that the poll is defamatory and misleading. In a story on the Trump campaign letter, CNN.com noted that “while it’s accurate that 1,259 adults were reached on landlines or cell phones by a live interviewer for the survey, the 14-point margin by which Trump is trailing Biden came from a question posed only to 1,125 registered voters. It’s typical for polling to sample registered voters rather than likely ones at this stage of the race, as it’s difficult to project whether voters will participate in an election that is five months away.” The cable news network also noted that the 25% sample of Republicans is a percentage that is “consistent with several other major polls that use live telephone interviews, which provide the most reliable snapshot of the race.”

Does Dear Leader not have a group of people checking his tweets before he sends them?! Biden doesn't need to say anything at this point. All he needs to do is mine the President's twitter feed for sound bites to stream and let Trump's words speak for themselves. And yes, I know S.S. stands for Secret Service. Still, in this atmosphere, he does need to watch his mouth and twitter fingers. Which he isn't doing at all.
Trump praises 'S.S.' for 'very easily' dealing with protesters in DC
President Donald Trump on Thursday praised the National Guard, the US Park Police, and what he described as the "S.S." for the way they handled protests in Washington, DC, last week against police brutality following the Memorial Day death of George Floyd.
Floyd's fatal May 25 arrest, in which a white Minneapolis police officer was recorded kneeling on his neck for several minutes while Floyd said he couldn't breathe, prompted protests around the world.
"Our great National Guard Troops who took care of the area around the White House could hardly believe how easy it was," the president tweeted. "'A walk in the park', one said. The protesters, agitators, anarchists (ANTIFA), and others, were handled VERY easily by the Guard, D.C. Police, & S.S. GREAT JOB!"
Trump was presumably referring to the US Secret Service (typically referred to as the USSS) when he mentioned "S.S." in his tweet. But the post quickly drew attention because the abbreviation is most commonly used to describe the Schutzstaffel, the notorious paramilitary group of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party during World War II.
The SS was originally created as Hitler's personal bodyguard unit, but it adopted a combat role during World War II and was specifically charged with carrying out what the Nazis called the "Final Solution" — the murder of more than 6 million Jews across Europe.
The SS, according to the US Holocaust Museum, also "assumed leading responsibility for security, identification of ethnicity, settlement and population policy, and intelligence collection and analysis." The security force "controlled the German police forces and the concentration camp system" and "conceived and implemented plans designed to restructure the ethnic composition of eastern Europe and the occupied Soviet Union."
Trump's tweet on Thursday came on the heels of a New York Times report that described the aggressive tactics used by the National Guard against mostly peaceful protesters in the US capital last week and how the Guard's response to the civil unrest surrounding Floyd's death had cratered morale among the troops, particularly men and women of color.
"Typically, as the DC National Guard, we are viewed as the heroes," First Lt. Malik Jenkins-Bey, 42, who was the acting commander of the 273rd Military Police Company during the first days of the protests, told The Times.
But last week was different, he said.
"It's a very tough conversation to have when a soldier turns to me and they're saying, 'Hey sir, you know my cousin was up there yelling at me, that was my neighbor, my best friend from high school,'" Jenkins-Bey, who is African American, said.
The District of Columbia National Guard has faced sharp criticism for its tactics in quelling the protests, which included using pepper spray and rubber bullets to dispel peaceful demonstrations and deploying helicopters to fly low over protesters, sending them running for cover as the blast from rotor blades skimmed buildings.
Trump and his Republican allies, meanwhile, have painted the protests as being part of a widespread and coordinated effort by the far-left group antifa to sow discord and stoke violence related to the demonstrations.
While there have been instances of rioting and looting during the protests, a closer examination of court records, media reports, and social-media activity shows little evidence of an organized effort by antifa to infiltrate the demonstrations.

Proof that Trump doesn't give a rat-fuck about people in general. He's cut funding for Covid-19 testing in the mistaken belief that less testing will result in less cases of Covid-19. So how's that wonderful Covid-19 response going for ya?! Yes, I know it's originally from Rolling Stone. Doesn't make it any less true though. www.yahoo.com/entertainment/trump-follows-threat-slow-testing-163220493.html
