You do realize why people were upset with Trump when he was trotting out his bullshit about China? His bullshit gave fucking morons tactic approval to attack anyone who was Asian, including our own citizens who certainly didn't have anything to do with Covid-19. So no, Trump doesn't deserve as much praise as you think. Other people developed the vaccines and they didn't use Warp speed at all in development. Had he won the presidency, he would have used the vaccines as a stick to keep states and cities he didn't like in line, instead of you know distributing them to everyone. He was already ramping up to that before he lost everything. I am personally not inclined to give Trump any praise for anything.
Acknowledgement that he did a bare few things right, yes. But not praise. He doesn't deserve any. You don't deserve praise for things that you've no part of and the few right things you did that you should do because you're president. The infinitesimally little good he's done has been overshadowed by all the bad he's done.
Seriously. Should you praise a mechanic for detailing your car after putting in your brakes wrong? Of course not. Why should I praise a failure of a president like Trump for doing a few things right on Covid-19, after all the things he did wrong on it?

He wasn't saying that Biden heaped praise on Trump. He was saying that the media would ignore what Trump did and heap praise on Biden.  Regardless of what you(and the media) want to believe. Trump's mountain of money helped speed research along. He made other fuck-ups with Covid, but that wasn't one of them. Wow! Acknowledging that Trump did a few things right? Mmm. From what I read, research was already well on it's way with most of the vaccines. What the money did was help production. I do acknowledge he did that right. It still doesn't deserve praise.

The research was well on the way, but it wasn't complete or that close to complete. The extra money Trump used sped up completion of the vaccines. Then Trump's CDC relaxed the restrictions on the clerical side of getting vaccines approved. There are several very lengthy steps that had to be done sequentially. The relaxed restrictions allowed all those steps to be completed simultaneously, allowing approval FAR sooner. |

At least I admit it 3cat. You still don't admit that masks are effective at blocking viruses that transmit through aerosols. When people talk to me rationally, with researchable cites instead of stomping their feet, mis-representing facts and throwing a tantrum if I don't agree with them, I eventually at least see their point even if I don't agree. Hell, Maxperson and I don't agree on lots of shit, but we do agree on some things and we're both on opposite ends of the spectrum politically.
