Well, my kitty was sick last month. Some sort of eye infection. A round of antibiotics, eye ointment later and some recovery time and she's back to her old self. I also had to take her to the vet for her annual and shots a day or so ago, after she had fully recovered from her sickness. So she was sulking for a day. Now, she's cuddled up against my foot, happy as can be.
So yay!

November in Germany started with a new semi-lockdown (schools are still open, but restaurants and bars are closed again, except for delivery/pick-up, no more than two house-holds are supposed to meet). And of course, there was my 40th birthday that none of you fuckers remembered , which was rather uneventful accordingly. But depsite the lockdown, at least I got to see my sisters, parents, my nieces, brother in law (we're kinda cheating here, don't tell anyone, but my sister and brother in law in the middle of relocating to a new town so they aren't exactly a house-hold, my other sister is working mobile since the whole thin started, and my office more than half are working from home and we have all kinds of measures in place to minimize personal contacts). I also got to play some Star Wars Armada with my brother in law. I really like that game, if you need another table top game that'S not as expensive as Warhammer but still expensive, that's what I'd recommend.
I got new battery-powered vacuum cleaner and a Lego Millenium Falcon. So basically a ship from Spaceballs and a ship from Star Wars.
My nieces are also really cute. The older one has her second birthday end of the week, and it's fascinating to see how much she can already communicate (and understand) and that she even knows our names. She even recognized her grand-grand-mother. Her sister is almost 3 months old so isn't doing much, but she already likes to look around and occasionally babbles. She seems a bit less loud and easier to bring to sleep than her older sister was. Her older sister sometimes cuddles with her, but occasionally she's a bit too wild, and she found it amusing when we were cross with her for hitting her sister and tried to repeat it. Guess that will take some parental work to sort out.
My parents are really happy grandparents and love to take care of them, and the older really loves her grandparents to. Sometimes at the expense of the father, and at least as long she knows her grand-parents are there, one of them has to bring her in bed, she will not accept any substitutes.

(I don't even know if anyone on CM, at least around right now, would know my birthday. Rel or Trillian might have known...)

Obviously because you like me, even if you hate yourself. But I love myself. I just don't care for birthdays. All those people, and everyone has to be cheery, and there's usually crappy music... I'll just have to celebrate you r birthday the same way I celebrate mine, I sleep in an extra hour. And for ease of remembering, I'll just celebrate your birthday on the same I celebrate mine, January 1st. So I'll sleep in two extra hours next year.

Me and my sister usually have takeout for birthday dinner or cook something simple. Our favorite "cake" is actually Gigi's cupcakes. One, they have gluten free varieties and two, they're damned good.

I had balsamic vinegar chicken. Mushrooms and green beans cooked in chicken broth, white white, Tony Chaceres, Italian seasoning and garlic with a ham hock thrown in for good measure. And coleslaw for dinner.
Simple and tasty.

Fuck 2020. I just had to put my cat down. Fuck cancer. Yeah, cancer sucks. Especially in a pet.

It's just been attacking my family lately. First my mum, then my cat. Jesus. Fuck cancer with a jagged stick. No lube.
And above all, fuck 2020 with jagged glass. No lube. I'm disavowing the entire year pretty much.

It's just been attacking my family lately. First my mum, then my cat. I've always felt it was worse with pets. With a human, they can reason and decide if they want to suffer, to fight it out. Or when it's time to stop fighting. With a pet, you just have to make what you hope is the best choice and then suffer as though it was the worst one.

My mom has cancer, but it's 100% survival rate, super early breast cancer, so I'm not worried. Remove two tiny tumors and some radiation pills.
Sorry to hear about the cat.
And I also turned 40 this year Mus. Any young people on this board anymore?

Don't think so. We're all getting older, creaky and cranky. Prayers and good vibes to your mom, El. Cancer is still scary, even if it's survivable. Fuck cancer in any form. That's one of my mottoes now.
