Anyone played Jets N'Guns? The 2nd part is in... whatever it's called when the game isn't finished but you can buy and play what they got right now. I found it a while bakc when I was looking for some casual side-scroller/shooter. Quite enjoyable, IMO.

The Witcher tv show finally inspired me to play witcher 3. I bought the GOTY version years ago, have been putting it off for some reason all this time. I think because I was afraid of the commitment (of attention. I mostly game while listening to podcasts). I downloaded some mods, including Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra faces (they're actually quite good likenesses), having a ton of fun.

Who is buying the Wildemount book that everyone (except me) is swooning over on ENW?

Who is buying the Wildemount book that everyone (except me) is swooning over on ENW? What's Wildemount? I guess from that you can probably take it as a, "not me".

XCOM: Chimera Squad seems to be a rushed stopgap in an attempt to keep interest in the series until XCOM3 (presumably TftD reboot) gets released. It doesn't seem to fit thematically as well as the other releases.
XCOM2: War of the Chosen (WotC) DLC wasn't bad. It was definitely better than XCOM: Enemy Unknown, XCOM: Enemy Within DLC, and XCOM2. The series reboot is more tactically simplified than the original, but the potential for Chosen ambushes during mission somewhat compensated for this. XCOM2 improved the appearance, functionality, and behavior many of the enemy units (especially the Sectopod), and added a few new units increase the diversity of the enemy populace. This includes enemies falling back to other enemy "pods" increasing the chance of being overrun by the enemy. WotC also includes 3 factions representing the 3 additional classes along with missions to increase standing with each faction as well. Playing on the highest difficulty (Legend) with no saves (Ironman) can still make this game very challenging (particularly in the beginning).
But my favorites are still X-COM: UFO Defense and X-COM: Terror from the Deep (TftD). Ammo, weight, and turn-unit (moving, turning, kneeling, dropping, picking up) management made the game feel more tactically realistic along with the field of vision. Getting killed never spotting the enemy was more in tune with "battle chaos" and the fog of war, and was addictively infuriating. I (fondly?) reminisce having soldiers adjacent to the aircraft exit start their movement only to get one-shotted (or worse, one of their cohorts) by reflex fire of an enemy unit awaiting in ambush potentially panicking other squad members in turn. TftD was more challenging as you could no longer stay out of reach (by hovering in the air) of the nastier zombifying melee units in underwater missions.
