Age of wonder why should I watch it.
Five episodes in I wonder what is the point. Their is no acting. The actors are plastic puppets (fuck voice actors). There are no action scenes. It is a TV series, not a film, so the effect budget is stretched out. CGI and what not aren't that great. The sense of wonder is not there for the aesthetics. What is there left? The plot. There is nothing special about it. It is very tropy and doesn't reinvent anything. No one would talk about the show if it wasn't a known brand. And we know how it ends. So why watch it?

I'm not much interested. I prefer the original. The Dark Crystal is right up there with Labyrinth, Krull, Ladyhawke, Goonies, Star Wars (original trilogy) Tron and Return to Oz! Those were my favorite childhood movies.
Hey, I was a nerd girl.

I actually sat down and gave the Age of resistance a chance. I liked it. Alot in fact. They didn't cutsey it up, in fact they made it darker, which given the times, it was a pretty dark movie for a kid show. The characters were engaging, the plot was good if not the most original.
The entire thing was made with puppets and mostly practical effects. That's the point. There is little if any CGI.
