I predict another four years of Biden's administration puppeting the dementia president and then we'll get new blood.

Can we have some new people please? These old farts are getting really boring. Would love that. Any realistic ideas on who? From the Dems - Jamie Raskin is competent, and seems level-headed. From the MAGA GOP? The entire party is intellectually and morally bankrupt, and is led by loud-mouthed Christofascist retards only interested in shitting explosively over social media. After they've finished burning their party to the ground - and hopefully not the country and the planet - we'll have to see what emerges from the ashes. It will be an uphill struggle for the GOP to rebrand itself again as a sober, fiscally responsible, small-government party which respects democratic norms, the constitution, and the separation of church and state. Currently, they're just a group of cravens dancing to the tune of Fat Orange, inwardly praying that he'll soon shuffle off this mortal coil and they can pretend they were never part of the problem.

I'd love to pack Trump, Desantis and Ramaswamy in a room together so that they can do bad things to one another. On the left I have no idea.

To me, Christie is the closest to a reasonable conservative. I agree regarding the remainder of the conservatives you mentioned. On the left, I simply don't know. Most who I like are too young or too inexperienced, or both. Or just plain too old. I think Fetterman needs at least a full term. Katie Porter needs more experience with more responsibility than a Representative gets. I could see either Tammy Baldwin or Tammy Duckworth as a potential candidate, though both would face significant challenges. The US has never knowingly (most people didn't know FDR was mostly wheelchair bound) elected someone with a significant physical disability before, nor an LGBTQ candidate, for President. Much less a woman. Though both are strong women with good credentials. Cory Booker is possible, though I don't remember that he had a good showing in 2020. Don't know most of the state governors well enough to say there, though Andy Beshear might be interesting as a Democrat who has won in a red state. We really do need to get the Boomers out of office. And those of the Silent Generation even more. The fact that there are still some of those in office is crazy. At least some of the Boomers are only just hitting 60, while the youngest of the Silent Generation are 78. I half expect that what's going to happen is that the Boomers hold on until Millennials take over, entirely skipping my generation. Probably not a bad thing, all told. Too much of Gen X doesn't really understand technology. Except that Boomers understand it even less as a general rule.

I mean, he's running on a not-Trump platform, and he's made some incisive comments. But as governor of NJ, he: *Systematically underfunded schools *Settled a $9Bn dollar lawsuit with Exxon Mobil for a paltry $200M. Repubs received a $500K kickback in donations *Rejected fracking bans *Vetoed animal welfare legislation *Vetoed minimum wage legislation *Is against same-sex marriage *Vetoed a millionaire tax *Blackmailed local jurisdictions by withholding Hurricane Sandy relief, conditional on other demands *Opposed marijuana legalization Not to forget: *Helped Trump get elected in 2016, and served as part of the transition team He's just a cunt. He's not-Trump, but he's still a cunt.

On a serious note, pretty much the only politicians of either party that do not have a list like that are the ones that just show up to coast and collect a paycheck. At least Haley and Christie are moderates.

If by "moderate" you mean "not batshit crazy," but Haley has been conspicuously reluctant to criticize the Big Orange as she's still hedging her bets as his running mate when he gets the nomination.
The only question about 2024 is "are there 70 million or 80 million morons in the US?" In one scenario, you're fucked; in the other, you're fucked and so is your democracy.
Unless Biden can conjure enough temporary lucidity to sneak some polonium into Trump's Diet Coke, and promptly expires himself shortly thereafter.

Human garbage Nikki Haley declines to mention slavery when asked about the cause of the American Civil War, instead citing "How government was run. The freedoms of what people could and couldn't do." Like the freedom to own slaves. Don't want to risk disaffecting that powerful White Supremacist voting bloc, after all, do we Nikki? www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTj6mAksLxMOh, so moderate.

And with Haley now saying she would pardon Trump, she is no longer viable to me. Oh, well.
