Are there still people with half-way modern gaming computers on this board that play this game? As I understand it, it's not much fun on the consoles yet, but man, I am totally enjoying this game on my PC.
The atmosphere, the dialogs. It's just great.
I have figured out the hacking system, but I haven't actually figured out all the intracities of combat. Tech/Power/Smart weapons must be doing something, but what? But I am only playing at Normal difficulty or whatever it's called and so far it has been manageable.
I have barely progressed the main story because there is something else to do at every corner, and as I am trying to make money to pay off the fixer for continuing one of the main quest lines, I end up finding stuff I want to buy and get that instead. (I suppose in that regard it's really the same as Witcher. And hey, I guess my V wants to enjoy her life to the fullest before .... things happen.)

My potatoe has a first name it's "15 years too old", my potatoe has a second name "It's I'll upgrade Q1 of next year"... Also by then, the worst of the bugs will be ironed out. Though the "Rock out with your cock out" bug would have been amusing to have while playing.

My pc isn't as potato as EE. It could run the game, rather poorly. I'm also upgrading as soon as prices stabilize and the sub 300 dollar GPUs get released so I have a better idea of what's available. So I'm waiting on Cyberpunk.

My computer is so fucking old, it won't even run the newer version of Roller Coaster Tycoon without seizing up. I finally had to bite the bullet and get a new monitor after my old one died. It was one of the first generation flat-screens.

I actually learned something regarding Tech/Power/Smart weapons after asking on reddit:
Power weapons ability to ricochet can be best used with a ballistic coprocessor and some mod that actually visualizes the trajectories. Seems like a gimmick I don't really need. The part that I really need however is that they appare to be the only type of gun that can accept a silencer!
Smart Weapons require a smart link (unsurprising) and have some form of auto-aim. Still haven't tried it, though.
Tech weapons can be charged up by pressing the fire-button/trigger and deal extra damage or multiple shots for extra damage. They also appear to deal some energy/elemental damage, the one weapon I used so far (Lizzy - still has the best DPS of a handgun I found after 38 hours of play so far) causes enemies to start burning.
After learning the silencer stuff I have a power hand gun as alternate side arm with a silencer for when I want to stealth around.
Your skills in Cyberpunk get better by using them. So if you sneak around, knock out people and put them in dumpsteres without being seen, your stealth skill improves, if you shoot people with a handgun your handgun skill improves, if you hack people your quickhacking skill improves, if you hack terminals for money your breach skill improves and so on. But they stop advancing once they reached the level of the linked attribute. I curently sit at Coolness 12 and Stealth 6 or 7 and Coldblooded a bit lower, so there is still alot of sneaking around to do, but I only have Dexterity 6 and my Handgun skill is at 6, so it might make sense to go around brawling some pepole with my recently acquired Gorilla Arms, instead of shooting them. Idealy in fast succession, becaus I think that triggers Coldblooded perks and probably boosts the skill.
Raising the attributes also helps you unlock higher level perks, so it's a difficult decision whether you spread out so your skills keep advancing, or you focus so you can unlock perks and cyberware. My instinct tells me that min/maxing is probably still the way to go, but I could be wrong.
I figure it won't take long until the first character build guides that lead to the most optimum build will appear, if they have not already.

Microsoft and Sony are offering refunds for the game. Sony yanked it from their store.

Shouldn't take that long. The game runs 'fairly' well on PC, so most PC users aren't experiencing the game breaking glitches... so they'll keep playing and the types who make guides will absolutely make guides. I mean, even ignoring IGN's* walkthrough 'wiki' (it's a work in progress, but pretty well getting there) the Official Hardcover Guide is available... * I started hating IGN guides almost a decade ago. They're good, but they're video and I ain't got time to watch someone else play, gib me teh words! I read faster than people speak and damn sure way faster than some chummer can play.... also, if I'm turning to a guide it's for one tiny thing, I am not going to watch a 30 minute walkthrough for that 30 second bit hidden somewhere in it.

Yep. But don't you know the PC is dead? All the cool kids play in consoles... (said while playing a 15+ year old Silent Hunter 3 on my Win7 box...) I much prefer text walkthroughs in most cases, but some of the GameBanshee ones are decent.

Yep. But don't you know the PC is dead? Ze reign of Ze Glorious PC Master Race is eternal! Game Banshee huh... I'll try to keep them in mind should I ever need a walkthrough. It's been almost 10 years since the last time I needed a walkthrough for any game that wasn't Dwarf Fortress... (every time I go back to DF I need a refresher on everything that's changed)

I don't get the necessity to buy the new hotness on the day it comes out when all you are doing is paying to be a beta tester. I still haven't bought Wasteland 3 - I'll wait a year from release to make sure what I buy is stable out of the box... Then again I'm still using Silent Hunter 3 (heavily modded of course) and Flightsim 2004...

It's still for sale on GOG, which is the best place to buy it from.

Well, technically, a refund is just giving you money back, everything else is optional.
But no, you can't have your cake and eat it.
