Cities don't have a choice. You can't stifle free speech. They can if they feel there is a significant threat of violence. Of course the first city that hosted BLM rallies that blocks a MAGA rally will have a lawsuit on it's hands... If there's some sort of imminent bomb threat or something, sure. Just the possibility of violence such as MAGA vs. Antifa? Not so much. People have the right to gather.

An interesting read: Fireside Friday, October 30, 2020 by Bret DevereauxIt's a discuss of stasis, as the greeks used the word, meaning 'stand together' or to be more precise 'factionalism' and how it lead to the downfall of many previous democracies; and how it relates (as of 2020/10/30) to our democracy. I do disagree with one of his assertions: I don't think Biden and the Dems want actual "inclusive redefinition of the polity", I think they want the illusion of "welcoming the other side 'back to the table*'", when actually they want capitulation and control of the defining terms. * IE no one has "left the table", the table split and is so far apart each side is demanding the other come to their table, while the centrists are still at the original ur-table and... fuck it, the analogy is broken.

Part of the problem is that each side is also playing musical chairs at their own table with some of them cheating because they've been promised a more lavish chair at the other side's table. The only way to fix it may be to set all their tables on fire and build a new table.

Yes and the Justice department is run by Trump bootlickers. Not the most trustworthy of sources.
Why it wasn't worse than it was
He did incite the mob

I would like to see actual coming together, but for that the Old Guard* Globalists† and the New Hot Headed Progressives‡ have to be cleared away (or at least diminished to insignificance) or neither side will wish to come to reconciliation. * By which I mean Dems and Repubs like Pelosi, Biden, McConnell, Pence. There are oldsters like Sanders who are willing to compromise, but never get close to the table because their ideas are considered "too out there", so they aren't 'The Old Guard'. † I'm sure there are Repubs that I could lump together under Old Guard on the Right, like Romney, but honestly I've been ignoring the Right as I stopped caring about "fixing" that broken axle and focused on the Dems instead as they "tend to line up more" with my social politics and I'm fine with the Repubs curbing them on economic policy. ‡ "The Squad". The worst group of fucking anti-american bullshit politicians I've ever seen. And I rooted for AOC when she was running (back when her crazy was being kept under control).

You can be forgiven for routing for AOC. Put a mask over her horse teeth and she's sorta-kinda fuckable. I'm sure her chosen profession of bar-wench implies she's a goer. The issue is she epitomizes "looks normal, head full of crazy," so it's easy to be fooled. As to the old guard. I'm good with removing anyone who has served more than two terms, no exceptions.

The same DoJ that continued a witch hunt against Trump over 4 years with Mueller as Torquemada that ruined peoples' lives with naught to show for it but a $40+ million bill to the taxpayers?

That was Sessions, he had something resembling a bit of a spine. Barr is a boot-licker par exellance. And it wasn't a witch hunt. They just didn't dig deep enough. Even then, there was enough to impeach Trump and arrest alot of people. You still believe everything Trump and company spout out.
Sad that.

You're reaching Qanon levels of conspiracy there. "No, no, no!!! We gotta keep digging!!!". There was never anything there to begin with. Certainly nothing even approaching anything even remotely impeachable. There was such a nothingness that they couldn't even find anything that even rose to the level of "he got an intern to swallow his hog in the office." You're like Geraldo reporting on Al Capone's vault.

There was plenty. If the right can investigate Clinton 9+ times, then the left can for Trump. I'm sure that the investigations will find even more shit.

Who the fuck is Eric Weinstein? If you got out of your Yahoo news bubble, you'd know. But you'd rather be "I hate President Trump because my tv told me to."
