It's worse than just the infograph below. If you want a decent score, and thus be assured of being able to do business in China, if you're a foreign company, you have to abide by and develop a good standing in China's social Credit system. This means expect more Yellow Washing of blockbuster movies, not just when they are exported to China, but when shown in Europe, the US, etc. More of instances of things like sports players in the US refusing to take stances against Chinese human rights violations, and I can't wait for Kobe Bryant to decide to kneel in protest of a US political figure speaking out against China (despite the fact he's a nonperson in the Chinese system because he's black). Expect social media companies to begin banning over negative views about China, if the company is allowed to operate in China or is Chinese owned, like TikTok. I can't wait for China to start blacklisting US citizens and expecting US companies that do business with China (hello Nike) to base hiring practices on the Chinese Blacklist. New Horizons, a company designed to help get your business into compliance with the Chinese Social Credit System... "An Introduction to the China Social Credit System"

Who are the "we" you are referencing, 3cat? Did I stutter? Pretty sure that almost no one thinks that they should all be killed. The leadership? Perhaps a lot of people wouldn't mind seeing them die off. The common folk who are just trying to survive in the system they were born into? Nope. Just sociopaths like you.

Who are the "we" you are referencing, 3cat? Did I stutter? You don't speak for me in any way shape or form. The leadership? Yes, go for it. The population, no.

What part of CIVILIANS are you not understanding? It's not as if grabbing their pitchforks and charging machine guns would have been effective.

Just like the German civilians living near concentration camps during WW2... Who, like the Chinese citizens now, were just trying to not end up in those camps as well. It's one thing to say "If we all band together we can overpower the guards/cops/military" and quite another to be the one who steps forward to stand in front of a tank knowing you'll lose and the government will do it's damnedest to erase you from history, and the rest of the world wil stand aside as the CCP does so. I don't fault any of the chinese citizenry. I can't say I'd do anything different if I saw the world as it is presented to them.

One thing I've found quite interesting... I've been putting together a timeline of the past couple of years of real-world events at post of building a future alternate history for a Twilight:2000 campaign. What I found during that effort is just how quickly confrontational rhetoric has ramped up as soon as Biden took office. I mean 2018 and 2019 were relatively quiet. 2020 things started picking up (no doubt nudged by covid), but China, Russia, Belarus, Iran, all have increased they're violent saber rattling from mid-2020 - almost as if China and others knew Biden would win and they'd be able to go back to their old ways.

That always happens when a new President takes office.

China's threats are hollow. They're all about retaining and enjoying the power that they have over their people and the comforts that go with it, just like all dictators. They aren't going to throw that all away in a nuclear war.

They aren't going to throw that all away in a nuclear war. Of course not, this is the beginning of the threat-making stage. Next comes increased military actions around Taiwan, then if they get away with, the 'promise' of taking back their island. If they truly remain uncountered, I expect in about 4-6 years to see a move on Taiwan.

They actually used the fall of the Soviet union to their advantage to buy ships, submarines, and airplanes to bridge three power gap when Clinton sent three CVBGs through the Taiwan Strait in response to them lobbing missiles towards Taiwan. Pitting capitalist against further communist-cum-capitalist. They are very good are exploring any advantage to it's fullest. It amuses me that we've allowed them free access to our universities for decades and then or industry and government is ::shocked:: that they either in turn steal our IP and spy on us or they counter our technology that has military uses...
