Not happy about the unavailable caps & spaces for usernames. Or the loss of 13 years' worth of accumulated dignitas...it's like losing XP somehow. Is there another skin for the boards. Brown on brown is a tad depressing, and I lean in that direction on my own as it is. I found the Theme Library, but the few I looked at...no. Based on the threads I found on uploading images, installing an avatar doesn't seem to be as straightforward as it should be, though I see several of you managed it . Summary: Moan, bitch, gripe, complain. You can change your name in the profile as well, no spaces AFAIK but caps are available.
Edit: spaces are available as well.

shiningbrow, checking in. Too bad we couldn't migrate the archived threads from the old board, but glad to have this here, regardless. also, was unable to post on the old board any longer, so this is an improvement.
Not a fan of beige, either, but you gets what you pays for. Exalt/Smite is related to Karma, like rep, right? It's taking a little time to adjust.

Hmm new board... I think I need a change of Avatar, but what? I too have been around forever, since the days of Nutkinland and the like. Enjoy in this order the most Roleplayer > Board/Card gamer > Computer Gamer. Although due to easy of organisation the order tends to be the reverse for actual play time. Bit of a lie as I have a regular RPG group that meets on Sunday for nearly two decades. I'm currently running Pendragon, but playing various Pathfinder campaigns and CoC we alternate campaigns every few months. Spanish wife and two kids. Eldest just started playing Magic, using my old cards, shocking some of the shop regulars when he drops a dual land or uses Fork in a Commander Game, youngest has just got his head round KeyForge, but neither has been lured into roleplaying yet. How about this for an avatar? Sorry, I don't remember what your old one was. Oh, right, the whole "(re)introduce myself" thing: Not sure it matters much these days, since I don't participate as much as I once did; most of the folks I talked to fairly regularly have been gone from CM for years. But, in no particular order: roleplayer*, board/card gamer, obsessive accumulator of plasticrack, comics fan, and watcher of more TV than any four (perhaps five) sane people would attempt. *I also have a Sunday gaming group (RPG when we can all make it, board/card game when we're short one or more players) and including my wife and myself, four members of that group have been together for more than 20 years. I joined CM in 2006. I was not a nutkinland resident. I've had very few different avatars over the years, except for a period when CM allowed subscribers to purchase the ability to change other subscribers' avatars, and I was cycled through a number of them. On other messageboards I use the more conventional alias "Damon Griffin." It's also a name I use IRL, although it's not my real name. Random bits: live in San Antonio; analyst-programmer for local government; Myers-Briggs type INTJ personality. If you know the SCA, my daughter is the current Queen of Meridies; my wife wrote and had published a number of YA books; my mom died last year at 82 after being a 16-year survivor of pancreatic cancer. |
