Trump would never fall on his own sword for anyone. Much less an underling. He expects them to do that.
Nice try though. He was convicted of stealing. That's what fraud is. It's theft. The money went into his pockets, not his employees pockets. He is a dirty, rotten thief, who lost the election, lost over fifty lawsuits concerning the election because there was no fraud and he had no credible evidence.

Paying salaries with campaign funds when those "salaries" have nothing to do with the campaign and is mainly to oneself, family and close friends is self-dealing. Seems to me, you're the one trying (and failing by the way) to move the goalposts with silly excuses.
Now admittedly, it can be a gray area on how they set up the shell company. Though, considering what we're dealing with (a collection of ethically bereft, morally bankrupt, abject morons) it is entirely possible that they will fuck it up and get nailed, just like with how Trump got nailed with his Trump charity scam.
