An interesting article on the report:
I remember reading about articles on how planting more trees could help fight climate change. I didn't really look deeper into that, but I did wonder how practical this actually would be - we might have other uses for that land, after all?
Well, seems the new IPCC Climate Report is a lot about this aspect - according the report, we already use 1/3 to 1/4 of the usable land for our needs (in food, feed, fiber, energy, timber) and we affect 70 % of it. And land can be usually used mostly for one purpose, so if we want to make food on some area of land, we can't also use it sequestre carbondioxide.

Nothing is gonna happen. Neo-Nazis and carbon barons are in a weird symbiosis when it comes to global warming.
Heating the planet will kill the brown people in the South and make the barons richer. Trumplike politicians are an expression of that symbiotic relationship.

That article is... bad. I am happy to see the IPCC finally addressing land use, although the reporting is sensational, as always. We've radically altered a quarter of the surface of the planet, yet we keep pointing at a trace atmospheric gas as the only bad guy? Sigh, climate science has been captured by special interests.
I did note that the article waxes eloquently about how every food chain starts with the sun. This is good, but I found it odd that the author somehow missed the other essential ingredient in those chains -- carbon dioxide. Has the IPCC yet told us what the optimum concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is yet?
