[quote author=" Kzach " source="/post/940/thread" timestamp="1568682078" There is no difference between a republic and a representative democracy. Wow. Look who is moving the goal post now. In the vernacular tongue, the word "democracy" is used for representative democracy. Thus why it is hillarious to have people say "the US is a republic, not a democracy", when its representatives are elected in democratic elections. Morons. And, since it is time to educate your ignorant ass even more, a republican isn't always a representative democracy. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the People's Republic of China aren't representative democracies. They are republics, as they aren't hereditary monarchies. Idiot. Constitutional monarchies like Australia, the UK and Canada aren't republics. But the are democraciesé AKA representative demcracies. Hope you're not too confused here, Derpina.

Well with the US you can. Or at least it's possible. It's just soo fucking convoluted that nobody wants to begin the process of changing things.

Thus why it is hillarious to have people say "the US is a republic, not a democracy", when its representatives are elected in democratic elections. Morons. Sigh. "Elected in 'democratic elections'" doesn't equal democracy. There isn't even a thing called a 'democratic election' outside of the DNC. They're elections. Those with the franchise vote. Also, if someone says "republics aren't democracies" they aren't using the vernacular. So your appeal to the general stupidity does cover up your specific stupidity. Sigh. They were "republics" because they held out the myth that they were representational democracies. They held elections, by party members. That you were told who to vote for is just a common fig leaf for authoritarian regimes. Do try harder not to look like you drool on the carpet, mmkay? Sigh. Right, because republic is a specific form of representational democracy that typically has a president. However, when I say "republic" that means "representational democracy with a president as high office." It's still a representational democracy. And democracy is not AKA representational democracy. I know this argument totes pwns your mom, but you need to do better.

They held elections, by party members. Derp, derp, fucking derp. That is how you attaint power in a republic that is also an autocracy or oligarchy (instead of a democracy), moron. "The primary positions of power within a republic are not inherited, but are attained through democracy, oligarchy, or autocracy. It is a form of government under which the head of state is not a hereditary monarch."

Is the right any better? Look at Kansas for example or Alabama/Mississippi. Nope. Both are equally bad.

The same dictator always wins, because the "elections" are just a sham.

You haven't answered if you can elect people in a republic by way of theocracy or communism, though.

Not even close. You're just dumb. It is about the US being a republic and a (vernacular warning) democracy, and Cuntmancer first denying it, than trying to save face by being pedant after it became obvious he didn't have a leg go stand on. Let the adults speak and go play with the Nazi. You like to give him credibility while he mocks you.
