I find this cartoon sums up some of those on the "gun freedom" side of the argument and might be useful for the "No, no, gun ownership isn't a right" side to understand. Note (which will be ignored by my detractors) I'm mostly fine with where we're at right now with gun laws. I'd have to dig deep into to see where things go afoul of my personal sense of "gun freedoms"*, but I'm too lazy at the moment. * Second note: I don't own guns and don't want any. I feel no need for them in my life, but I also don't want the right to have them taken away. I'm an axe wielding maniac (I prefer knives and hatchets for personal self-defense).

I thought it was rather clever myself. I prefer sourdough donuts myself. Duns are just weird.

So did they vomit up the bites of cake represented the 2004 sunsetting of the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban? Or did they just keep that piece in the freezer?

Could this cartoon also be adapted to illustrate the reduction of power exclusivity once held by white male property owners?

Could this cartoon also be adapted to illustrate the reduction of power exclusivity once held by white male property owners? Sure, if you feel the need to compare the Second Amendment to something not ensconced in the Bill of Rights.

Nobody needs a gun in this day and age - we're not hunter-gatherers any more - thus it's insane that the right to own and bear them is still part of the USA's (or any nation's) foundational document.

Ahem. And really? You'd remove the greatest means for a female to defend themselves against a male, the 'great equalizer', a handgun? Do you like it women get attacked and can't defend themselves adequately?

Could this cartoon also be adapted to illustrate the reduction of power exclusivity once held by white male property owners? Nah - we had a few constitutional amendments to kick start that reduction in power.

This statement indicates that you really don't know why the 2nd Amendment was included in the Bill of Rights.

Some people do hunt. I don't see an issue with rifles and shotguns being allowed. Handguns, automatic weapons, armor piercing rounds, etc. are not necessary and really won't help if the army comes after you with satelites, drones, tanks, etc.

Do you like it women get attacked and can't defend themselves adequately? If a woman shoots an attacker for being male, she's going to prison for murder. Simply being male isn't enough to justify the shooting as a belief of imminent grievous bodily harm. Mace, pepper spray, bear spray, etc. are less than lethal ways to defend against a male attacker.
