It's fucking weird. Exactly the kind of weird to keep my interest. It is definitely not an "SJW" show... it's not even really like the original Watchmen comic, in that it's not really a deconstruction.
It's weird.

This show might end up being amazing, especially on second viewing as a binge. I think it really might be a New Testament to the graphic novel's Old Testament.

And episode 7 drops and it's an unexpected left turn, out of left field, from the murky depths of "what the fuck?", wrapped in a "who the fuck thought this up", with a solid core of "yeah, it all makes sense".
If you haven't watched any of it, start cold, don't go for any spoilers, and enjoy the slow immersion.

This latest episode... Not very happy with it. I don't think the show's writers understand Dr Manhattan. I'd assumed the ring was something he made, and that he had partitioned his consciousness into it and the body. I don't understand how, considering his consciousness, memory, etc, can survive his brain being disintegrated by the intrinsic field subtractor, he can't survive whatever it is that Ozymandias made being placed in his brain.
And then, the tachyon cannon that the Kalvary use on him at the end... The reason Ozymandias was able to catch him in an intrinsic field subtractor is because he didn't know about it, due to tachyon radiation used to subvert his perception of time, but he knew the tachyon cannon was there, and it was completely within his power to destroy it, so why was he unable? He basically commits suicide. I understand how he's unable to change the future he perceives, but why is this the future, when he has the capacity to prevent the cannon being used on him?
Also he can make some food that if you eat it you gain his power? What? That makes 0 sense.
