I can't believe we don't have a December thread.
Well, past coupla nights, I've been having weird to bad dreams. Night before last, I had a horrible dream where I had an argument with my dad and left their house in a huff. Woke up crying it was that sort of waking nightmare.
Last night, I had a dream where I thought it was Sunday night.
So yeah.... Weird.
Although today, our dog, who is getting over being sick, howled a little for his breakfast! Sure, it wasn't a big howl, but it was a howl! So he's getting better.

We had to put our dog down this weekend. She was only 10 years old. She had a mild, but frequent cough for a few weeks. We took her to the vet a couple of times, but they thought it was just some kind of cold or something. Unfortunately, Sunday night she started coughing blood. Not vomiting blood, but coughing it. So we took her to the closest 24 hour pet hospital. They immediately put us in a room to isolate our dog, Jade, from the rest in case whatever she had was infectious. Then the waiting game began. We got there around 10:30, but didn't see a vet til after midnight. After examining her, the vet said there were quite a few possibilities for a cause, and wanted to do blood work and an x-ray. When they got the x-rays done, they decided not to do the blood work. Turned out that she had many small tumors in both lungs, and a large one in one of her lungs. It was too far gone for anything reasonable to be done. We thought about taking her home and having her put to sleep there, but we didn't know how long that would take, and she was suffering. So we had her put down. One of the hardest things I have done.

I went through that about 10 years ago with my pup, and again just this year with my daughter's cat. It never gets easier, but it's the right call. She was gorgeous.

A friend had a dog with cancer and took him for months and months of treatments to no avail. In retrospect, she regretted not just having him euthanized to minimize his suffering. At least your dog had a good life in a loving home.
