Found a new artist, this Tommee Profitt who does soundtrack/trailer stuff that's pretty good. This one had a cool montage of some awesome game footage.

Richard Thompson covers Brittany Spears. It's not all that bad, especially when he lapses into a 16th century type rendering of it.

I love his music, and he's on my bucket list of artists to see, I was miffed about missing out last year or the year before when he was touring. Amazing songwriter, especially for more dreary/darker stuff, and his guitar playing is stellar. The first thing I heard from him was "Beeswing", which is still my favorite, though he's got so much other great stuff, too. "Vincent Black Lightning", "The Ghost Of You Walks", etc. I was pleasantly surprised to hear Kate Rusby do a cover of "Withered And Died" on one of her recent albums; she does it well and totally does justice to it.

This song ran across my mind yesterday while I was out moving hay. I can only take so much of listening to early Joan Baez (with that high vibrato that can get on one's nerves), but the imagery and symbolism of this song has always stuck with me from the first time I heard it.

Currently I'm into Kongos and The Hu, but they've been used in all manners of movies and gone viral, respectively, so I won't inflict videos on you.

It's not ear candy per se, but I've recently been enjoying this young drummer's work. She's covered 75+ different bands.

OH MY GODS this is both hilarious and excellent at the same time So...Italian group does a Latin pop take on Norwegian black metal...and tosses in a bit of Sinead O'Connor for good measure. Admirably weird.
