Woman, 49, in Texas denied methotrexate for her arthritis because the drug is also an abortifacient. The woman in question has already had a hysterectomy, but medical professionals are now afraid to prescribe the drug: linkInterview on Good Morning America. This couple had to travel two states away to Illinois to have an abortion. The fetus was diagnosed with Xeroderma pigmentosum group D (XPD) and Trichothiodystrophy (TTD), severe autosomal recessive genetic disorders. She was denied an abortion in Kansas. The couple are Catholic: link

Evileeyore, did you not read the article, or did you just miss that part? The phrase "as suspected" in your response seems to indicate the former, rather than the latter. Either didn't read the last sentence or forgot it by the time I responded originally. "As suspected" is because I don't trust the news and and didn't care to go hunting other sources for cross-verification. Holy shit! FTC is doing something useful! Good job FTC.

Another anencephalic fetus denied an abortion, this time in Texas. Because forced birthers would rather see infants suffer and die in pain than be terminated: linkTermination wasn't even discussed by her doctors as an option, because of the legal ramifications and, you know...Texas.

Ohio woman forced out of state for abortion. Low-viability fetus, life-threatening for her. But the tiny baby had a heartbeat, which means that it had been ensouled: link

46-year old woman with history of infertility forced onto birth control in order to access her pain relief for rheumatoid arthritis, methotrexate. This time in Tennessee: linkWho could have possibly thought that allowing a group of pig-ignorant fundies to decide women's health issues would cause so many problems? Oh, wait. The entire fucking medical profession.

Tom Emmer, a Minnesota Republican, calls abortion rights "Chinese genocide": linkNot sure if he's referring to the (now defunct) policy of limiting families to 1 child, or some kind of paranoid race replacement theory. He's an ignorant fuck, either way.

In Tennessee, all abortions are now illegal, with no exceptions for rape, incest, or if the life of the mother is threatened. It also has an "affirmative defense" requirement, which means that medical professionals now have to demonstrate their innocence rather than prosecutors demonstrate their guilt. Any kind of medical intervention will now come with the specter of potential criminal prosecution for doctors, nurses and anesthetists. Given that only 50% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, I'm sure that this will all turn out really well. link

Low-down on the 140 Democratic fundie state legislators who have sided with Republicans in various states, and "voted with their conscience" to imperil women's health and undermine reproductive rights. Mostly male Dixiecrats, but including a couple of Black women, which elicited a WTF moment in me. The fundie must be very strong in them: link
