He can't cheat. What you have to worry about is putting up someone who will lose, so you can't nominate Sanders... Sanders has the strongest actual backing by his base. And remember if he's on the ticket, Trump won't get the disaffected Bernie Bros this time (if Sanders doesn't get cheated out of the ticket). And while there are a lot of "Never Sanders" in the "Always Vote Blue, No Matter Who" crowd... it'll be a sight to see how many stick to their "Always Blue" slogan and how many pull a Xyxox and vote Trump out of spite. Will the Democrat spite be enough to defeat the Bernie Bros and give us another four years if Bernie makes the ticket? And if he has a strong running mate, would that sway the "Never a Lower Class Loving Socialist" Dems? |

Bernie doesn't have the backing in the Congress to turn anything socialist. If you want a Pres who will have his hands tied by a Congress that hates him and thus can't do anything, Sanders 2020. Bernie has also consistently spoken out against Executive Orders, and he is consistent in his fights, he won't use them. |

He cheated the last time. The entire "Russia thing" was essentially about him cheating. Hell, he was publicly noted asking for foreign help. That's cheating.
Actually, if he sells it right, Bernie might get those votes. All he has to ask is: would you rather it go to poor people or rich fat cats like Trump and his buddies who don't need it and remind people how those tax cuts benefited mainly the wealthy and corporations and not the little guy.
You don't realize how resentful people can get. He stokes that resentment, he has it in the bag. I mean, hellfires and horseshoes, that's how Trump got elected. By essentially stoking resentment and saying "I can fix it, I stand for you".

Second, it was useless and didn't do squat. People have their opinions and aren't swayed from those opinions by facts and reality, let alone Russia trolling. Second, Trump never asked Russia for help. He made a joke(a smart ass comment) about them finding her emails, which was clear from his tone and context. The Democrats dutifully fell for it and frothed at the mouth over it.
If he were just talking about current tax money, he might be able to sell it like that. He isn't. He's talking about upping taxes to an incredible degree and people aren't going to go for that at all. Shit is shit, no matter how much sugar you sprinkle on top.
