I already have back and knee problems due to my weight. I have high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol. At least I'm trying to eat healthier.I know it'll only get worse if I don't do something about it.

I have a hard time remembering all my ailments. Asymptomatic HIV/AIDS, type II diabetes, peripheral neuropathy, back trouble from scoliosis, spinal arthritis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, ocular hypertension*, low iron, low testosterone, low thyroid, moderate-to-severe sleep apnea, a long list of allergies (both seasonal and perennial.) I've had hepatitis A -- that's the one that doesn't recur. And from age 3 to age 14 I was on daily medication to treat recurring temporal lobe seizures.
*early warning sign for glaucoma, but I've had the OHT for decades and still have decent peripheral vision.

recurring temporal lobe seizures. What was that like?

recurring temporal lobe seizures. What was that like? Brief spells of dizziness. "Seizure" makes it sound a lot worse than it was, but that's the medical term.

Started a new job last week making $5/hr more than I was, then a job I had applied for at about the same time finally got back to me, and offered me $8/hr more than that. Took that job. Current boss annoyed, but said he would have done the same thing. He's asking me to do the full two weeks of notice. I am, since both jobs are contracts at the same company, and I don't want to piss them off.

Good call on obliging your current boss's request to work the full two weeks of notice.

I was stoked last week to get notice that I got an interview this Thurs. for a position at a different school. I'm *REEEEALLY* hoping I get it, mainly to get away from the seriously nasty cunt I currently have to work with. I've even gone so far as to wear a recording device hidden on me nearly every goddamn day when the higher-ups requested "documentation" of her behavior, and I said that I would get the best documentation possible. And now they appear to have been told from above not to do anything about her. This woman has been pretty much the sole reason that the last 5 or 6 people in my position have quit/moved/left (I've been in a position to do some digging and find out). And I can't fucking take another year of her shit, so I really hope I get this other position. Oh well, at least I stood and fought more than it sounds like anyone else has. The new position will pay a few bucks more per hour, too.

Follow up to an earlier post. My daughter and I don't swap a lot of pictures. This one is from 2013, so she'd have been 32 at the time.

Sigh.
2019 has been an unpleasant year. My dishwasher caught fire. My A/C went out in June. Girl dropped and broke her tablet (it was a 1 foot fall, in a case, that hit perfectly to break the display but not the glass). My washing machine broke. Then my refrigerator broke. That's just the appliances.
Today, we put down the cat. She wasn't doing well. Her brother died a year and 2 weeks ago, when he managed to slip out of the house in the wee hours of the morning and, the first time he ever encountered a road, got hit and killed. Today, we put the cat down because her quality of life had gone to shit in the last 48 hours. Cancer.
If I ever meet the writers for 2019....

I've picked up paying work for the first time in nine years! Yay! Also, if I see another instance of "party" subbed in for "players" or "PCs" in a game that isn't D&D, I am going to indulge some primal scream therapy.

Dishwasher caught fire sounds really scary and dangerous.
