Even with the error rate, the chances of being infected by someone who is asymptomatic is essentially zero - which is exactly the same as how every other virus in the history of viral infections work - with the vast majority of people being infected by someone who is symptomatic or presymptomatic. They've looked at viral shedding of multiple other viruses over the years and these studies shed light on the fact that covid is not magic - it behaves like every other virus in regards to viral shedding transmission by asymptomatic carriers. It doesn't matter where he lives. Even with sparse populations, Midwest hospitals are being overwhelmed by Covid. It's one thing for Covid to spread like wildfire in densely populated areas, but it takes a special kind of stupid to get a sparsely populated area that fucked up by the virus. On only a remotely related note, Florida finally does something right! Instead of putting essential workers, most of whom are below 50 as the next highest priority to front line workers, they are going against the CDC's moronic advice and placing people who are 65+ as the next most important group. You know, actually vaccinating those who are the ones doing the vast majority of the dying, because that just makes....................sense. |

And we're ignoring the CDC because Florida isn't Lefty racist. Compare places like Florida to shitholes like NY or CA and you'll see that they've done far better - all without lockdowns or mask mandates. We have had 'lockdowns' and mask mandates. Except our 'lockdowns' are "Please Shelter in Place" and "Business Are At Reduced Capacity" and the mask mandate is more like a sternly worded request. But then most people in Florida who aren't tourists (tourists are all assholes) wear masks. The one time I go out a week, I see 99% of the people wearing masks. It's mostly old farts and tourists who ignore the mask request. |
