Here's a more current article from the WHO: www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-00865-8You guys are still like the ancient alien believers. At this point, nothing will dissuade you. Nice try at trying to convince me, ranging from gas-lighting to calling me names. But then, when your cherished 'beliefs' are held up to a microscope, it shows they're full of sand standing on clay. So tell me? What real proof do you have that it came from a lab? None. You need to look at the existing evidence critically. Does it make sense that it came through a lab? No. Is the live-markets and farm angle more reasonable? Yes.
It's not rocket science. It's just common sense. The natural solution is usually the right solution vs the fevered scientists did it on purpose shit.

You need to read your articles better. It says that the research facility is a possibility. Here's the quote. "That investigation winnowed out alternative hypotheses on when and where the pandemic arose, concluding that the virus probably didn’t spread widely before December or escape from a laboratory." Probably didn't = possibly could have. And of course language like this, "Genomic analyses and i nferences based on the origins of other diseases suggest that an intermediate animal — possibly one sold at markets — passed SARS-CoV-2 to humans after becoming infected with a predecessor coronavirus in bats." They are deliberately not using absolute language, because they know what everyone here but you know, that the research facility is also a reasonable theory, even if it is more likely to have come from an animal. And then there are gems like this. "When the report authors visited the institute, its scientists told them that no one in the lab had antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, ruling out the notion that someone there had been infected in an experiment, and had spread it to others." And... “We were allowed to ask whatever questions we wanted, and we got answers,” says Daszak, who collaborates with researchers at the Wuhan institute." Sure, China told them. And they accepted it and ruled things out based on China's history of truthiness.

And they accepted it and ruled things out based on China's history of truthiness. It's worse than that, and why I keep saying "conspiracy"; Peter Daszak has financial ties to the Wuhan lab. So it's China telling someone in whose interest it is to lie anyway. So of course the guy who has lead both investigations into whether or not the virus came from the Wuhan Lab is financially motivated to make sure the Lab is found innocent of the origin, that's nothing for us plebeians to worry about. kirinke, you making the full 50 cents per pro China post, or has Xi the Pooh cut you in for some sweet, sweet Chinese Social Credits?

Now you're accusing me of being a Chinese sympathizer. Great way to convince me that you're right. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. You really are pulling out all of the stops when the general conspiracy theorist stupidity doesn't work. You're running out of gas when you resort to the ye old 'You're a plant!" accusation.
Just because I refuse to swallow the kool-aid you're dishing out doesn't mean I'm Pro-chinese. I just don't think it came from a fucking lab. If you actually follow the real science behind it, it makes sense.
It originated in bats, passed to some secondary animal then to humans. You don't need some fucking lab accident for it to happen. What you're doing is the modern equivalent of 'A wizard did it!'.
LOL.
Do you also believe the Earth is 6,000 years old and the Egyptian pyramids were grain siloes?
It's a remote possibility. Like getting struck by lightning or winning the lottery jack-pot remote. I will go with the more reasonable theory that it came from nature. It makes sense to me. The lab theory sounds silly to me. Now if you want to go with the lab theory because it makes sense to you, well it's a free country. I can't really stop you, can I?
It's just.... Bad pandemics like Covid-19 have been happening since forever. It didn't need a lab then for it, it doesn't now. People want to find a nefarious reasons when bad things happen, but alot of the times, the reasons why they happen are perfectly natural. Like when you break your leg. It isn't because some witch cursed you. It's because you're clumsy and you tripped. Basically, the lab theory is the same as a "witch cursed you" thing from a hundred years ago in my eyes.

So no, it's not like getting struck by lightning or winning the lottery. The odds, while small, are much greater than that. It's fine that you are going with the higher odds. It's even fine that it makes sense to you. It's stupid for you to just discount the theory out of hand and be so dismissive of it. That's a fairly strong indicator of a lack of intelligence. Rational people can at least acknowledge possibilities that they don't think are correct. Stupid ones keep to the closed minded decisions that they've come to, even after it has been shown to them that the information spoon fed to them MIGHT not be correct. You're also having reading comprehension issues with just our simple posts above. Nobody here, including myself, is saying that the lab theory must be true or even that we are "going with it." We're telling you, just like the scientific community is, that it's a possibility.

A remote possibility and highly unlikely.
Ancient aliens are a remote possibility, yet still people believe it like it's the new gospel. Doesn't make it true. People still believe that witches can cause your animals to sicken and you to break bones. Doesn't make it true. People believe Bigfoot is real and Aliens probed them. Doesn't make it true. Just like with the Lab Theory. Just because people believe it's a possibility doesn't make it true.

Now you're accusing me of being a Chinese sympathizer. Stick to the Chinese and big business propaganda as hard as you are, get labeled a propagandizer. Convincing you is simply not possible, you're a True Believer. It'll take the DNC's mouthpieces coming out and saying "Yes it was anything other than from the wild" to get you to let that theory go. You're incapable of recognizing comedy. There is zero 'science' behind the "From The Wild" conspiracy. They haven't found that strain in bats, nor in any animals. In fact, the research they've done says it would have been extremely difficult to pass from a bat to a secondary animal (that ins't human) because the spike protein wouldn't work on the secondary animal. There's the science. Inversely, to those of us who understand science and realize how unlikely a wild transmission of this virus has become, because the science says it's extremely unlikely, we see all you Flat Earthers 'From The Wild' conspiracy theorists the same way. Take off your double masks kirinke, get some fresh air, stop depriving your brain cells of oxygen. And here's your problem kirinke, you're a Believer. You have to have something to believe in to maintain a grasp on life, even if it's completely unfounded in evidence. Otherwise you'd read the science and come to the same conclusion most of us in the middle have come to, "Neither Theory Has Any Solid Evidence To Back It Up".

First, Politico? Really? Second, you ignored highly respected experts in that article to fish out something that matched your closed minded view of the situation. Um, yay.

Every single conspiracy theory and right wing wackadoodle notion about covid-19 that you guys have floated have proven to be bogus. Why should I believe you lot now? Because there's a "possibility" you might be right? Lol.You guys were all for chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine as covid-19 cures, until finally you had to concede. Which I always said it was bullshit, because I followed the fucking real science and not pseudo-science.
Fucking hell, if assholes like Tucker Carson and the Former Guy said the moon was possibly made of green cheese you'd be getting out your Ritz crackers!

I'm confused. How the hell do you get that they (excluding 3cat) actually know either way. They don't. You don't. There is circumstantial evidence that makes you wonder about those who are actually investigating things, though, so that's gotta make you wonder about whether it came out of the lab. To be honest, I DON'T think it is an engineered virus. By the same token, engineered or not, the possibility still exists that it came out of that lab. If it did, in either case, many of the people who are saying it definitely didn't are NOT disinterested parties. That's all they (again, other than 3cat) are saying. We currently DON'T know how it got into the population, and more than likely we aren't going to find out. Because China doesn't want any kind of impartial investigation. Their reasoning for that may not even have anything to do with the virus. Then again it might. We don't know. China does, but China isn't saying and really isn't a trustworthy source.

Honestly? I'll go with the information available, which right now strongly suggests that it was a natural happening. Yes it's a possibility, but it's a slim, remote possibility and highly unlikely.
With the available information, the lab theory just doesn't have legs.

Well, it's pretty simple. If you're vaccinated you can do what you want. If you're not, then you still have to follow the mask rules. Which means, get the shot or shots (depending on what vaccine you get)! If you can follow the science, it's not a hard concept.....
But for guys like NB and 3cat the answer is much more simple:

Just admit that you aren't intelligent enough to understand complex ideas. It's ok for you to be dumb since the world needs trainables such as yourself to perform menial tasks and because communists still need useful idiots.
