A perfect illustration of the limits and problems with liberalism and the free market of ideas. People think they are entitled to their reality. From the article: "Every Republican in the House supported the bill. It now moves to the Republican-controlled Senate."
Curse those liberal conservatives and their tricksy ways!

You do know Western countries are heavily influenced by liberalism as a political ideology (e.g. free markets, private ownership, etc), right? So called conservatives often try to conserve or promote liberalism. In this case the free market of (realities) ideas.

From the article:
This kind of scat shaming is unforgivable from a York University professor. Coprophiles are already a marginalized group; this kind of discrimination has to stop.
Stop it right there, cowboy. The irony is too subtle for CM.

You spit on the graves of any more Jews today, or was yesterday your limit?

I think you're both nimrods. That's okay. I'd much rather be a nimrod, than an anti semite who spits on the graves of millions of Holocaust victims.

What it means depends on one's own definition. Freedom, equality, and consent of the governed are usually high on the list. Free markets are lower down.
Since they don't hold equality before the law very highly, I don't think the American Conservative party is particularly liberal.

I could say the same for the Liberals... but we both know that both Parties are full of individuals with a very broad spectrum of values. Some in each party have a very egalitarian mindset, while others do not.

Like, that "liberalism" is a pretty broad brush. Not really. Liberalism is well defined by political scientists. Of course in Ohio you can forgo science and replace it with feelings... On the list of liberalism? Yes. For so called conservatives? No. But that doesn't mean they do not subscribe to some ideas or pay lip service to them. Like this bullshit about the free market of realities ideas. That is radical liberalism. Individual choice above all else. Even reality. So, if they aren't for liberalism, it begs the question, what are Republicans for? Royalty? Fascism? Both?

So, if they aren't for liberalism, it begs the question, what are Republicans for? Royalty? Fascism? Both? Republicans are for the exact same thing that the Democrats are for. Making the rich, richer. Making the poor, poorer. And shrinking the middle class. That is what the actions of both parties result in, so that is what they both stand for. The rest, the "ideological differences," are just lip service to fool the people who believe in such things into voting for the Republicans or Democrats. Both parties, when they control the presidency, house and senate, have failed to improve the lot of their constituents in any meaningful way, thereby giving lie to their professed ideological beliefs.

That is just the BS people are endoctrinated with by right wing media. The end game is to get you to stop voting for either parties, because that benefits Republicans who have smaller voter pool and that means less voters for Democrats. Or to get you to vote for Republicans because "why not, they are all corrupt and nothing will change, but I get tax cuts". It seems to work fine with you and Nazi Eeyore with all his previous whataboutism about liberals that came out out nowhere as liberals weren't the subject at hand. You guys are very, very well conditioned and respond on the dot. Morons.

If nobody votes Democrat or Republican, it's only the independents who will benefit, not the Republicans. If only some people stop voting for BOTH parties, then the Republican base shrinks, keeping the Democrats ahead.

Like, that "liberalism" is a pretty broad brush. Not really. Liberalism is well defined by political scientists. Of course in Ohio you can forgo science and replace it with feelings... Perhaps in your circles. For those of us not in Ohio, what I said holds true. Political scientist don't debate about "Classical Liberalism" vs. "New Liberalism" just for the helluvit. They recognise differences between them. Oh, so you DO know that the term "liberalism" refers to a broad category! By "beg the question" do you mean "leads to the question" or "assume the question to have already been answered"? I would say some Conservatives are for fascism and a class system based on plutocratic ideas: The wealthy should have more rights, the wealthy should have access to power, that sort of thing. But I haven't met a lot of Conservatives. Maybe the ones I've spoken with were atypical.

Each party as a base who always votes for them and they get votes from less partisan swing voters. If the less partisan people do not vote, the base is the one who elects politicians. Create an impression of constant crisis, like right wing media do, and your base will be highly mobilized to vote. This is why Republicans do elections on wedge issues too. To mobilize the base, while media and drones, like you and Nazi Eeyore, keep saying all parties are the same (implied do not vote because nothing will changed). But these are all facts. So move to Ohio so you can choose your reality, and keep your conditioning intact.
