I still don't see it. We also read very different news sites, so there you go and no, crying about the economy isn't a bad thing. Still, until we get a vaccine, how are we going to start the economy back up without people dying by the droves?
There aren't any easy answers here.

Yup. Only if you read only Vox or Vice, or Mother Jones, or other crazy extreme lefty bullshit sites, no, we really don't read different news sites. You're the only one who has mentioned crying about the economy in this discussion. I've been talking about those crowiing about how the economy has failed and "this is why you should have chosen socialism before!" So we'd be used to empty shelves and people falling dead in the streets I suppose. These are mutually exclusive concepts. Pick a lane. Team "Shut It All Down!5G!" or Team "But My Economies!Zz!". As for Team "Anti-Vaxx", I swear to Zod I will lobby to make it open season to sneeze and cough on all anti-vaxxers. That's a pat response and avoids all responsibility for your [lack of] contributions. I'm on Team "Shut It Down!" for now. When it comes out in a month or two that there is no vaccine [or herd immunity] I'll switch to Team "Let Grans Die". |

That's the extreme version. Which won't happen. The US will always be mixed. It is already has some socialist programs in addition to being overwhelmingly Capitalistic. That isn't going to change. People like their stuff too much.
I'm not even on that Freeway. Too crowded with crazy drivers.
Anti-Vaxxers and the "god will protect us" crowd both.

And you mistake welfare and social safety nets for socialism. Not surprising, as that's the soft sell that socialism starts with -- the lie that you already have socialism with welfare so you might like some more. It's like saying, "oh, I see you like lightning bugs. I bet you'll like some lightning!" |
