Texas will wait until next year to release its updated count of pregnancy-related deaths: link“The information we provide is not easily understood, and not easily and readily comparable to what goes on in other states,” Hellerstedt told the committee. “And the fact it isn’t easily understood or easily comparable in my mind leaves room for a great deal of misunderstanding about what the data really means.” Right. Texas is special, and numbers mean different things there.

Indiana enacts cuckoo legislation, banning all abortions but allowing exceptions up to 20 weeks in cases of fatal fetal anomalies, when the life of the mother is in danger, and in some cases of rape and incest. Gov Holcomb's statement: linkGOP Indianapolis Rep John Jacob didn't vote for the bill, because it didn't go far enough: "It regulates abortion, which is baby murder." He called on his colleagues to repent before God. Batshit crazy.

Poor optics can lead to unfavorable election outcomes for those that wish to remain in the majority.

Republicans are pretty much toast anyway. The fuckers are actively supporting fascists complete with finger signs. Sigh....

Republicans are pretty much toast anyway. Statements like this can lead to complacency. Texas is not as purple as that and will rebound from potentially poor optics if left to their own devices. [Data] out of sight, out of mind.

I think the implication is pretty clear - Lindsey Graham is almost uniquely unqualified to make medical determinations about uteruses, and he pulled "15 weeks" out of - what, the ether? Whether you consider someone qualified or not, doesn't change that you're wearing that homophobia on your sleeve right now. This thread hasn't had substance in months. Just endless whinging about things you can't change so I've been mostly ignoring it. I prefer not to whinge, I'll just wait and vote. This is what we need more of. A return to quality content.

Republicans are pretty much toast anyway. The fuckers are actively supporting fascists complete with finger signs. Sigh.... You're not out of the woods yet. Your judiciary is compromised, you have a criminal ex-president inciting violence, and with a broken electoral system and effective voter suppression there are still enough stupid people to jam a White Christofascist regime in.

It's almost as though you would rather explore anything except the actual substance of the thread. This thread hasn't had substance in months. Just endless whinging about things you can't change so I've been mostly ignoring it. I prefer not to whinge, I'll just wait and vote. What substance would that have been (months ago) that is absent recently?
Abortion doesn't seem to be the black and white issue oft framed. Some of the posts in this thread have listed legislative developments and specific cases demonstrating the complexity of the issues surrounding abortion.
Issues include (but not limited to): - Bodily autonomy
- States' rights
- Chilling effect regarding civil and criminal liability of health care providers and their patients regarding legal ambiguity
- Privacy rights
- Legislative inter-state conflicts
Lack of substance? Being aware of these developments and cases can help us determine better courses of action for the future. Voting should come after civil discourse and reflection. Without this process, we face an ever-growing ignorant electorate. Informed decisions are ideal, especially when it comes to voting and the change that stems from it.

My thinking is this the Roe vs Wade overturn was very much a distraction to bring about more US turmoil/division. It made no logical sense to overturn it the way they did. There were so many other ways of dealing with the issues and instances around abortion that were indeed problematic.
In fact, if you actually think about it the overturn actually helped the demorats have something to fight for against the other party. Without it, what do they really have - a senile puppet who is mass printing money, indebting future generations and increasing inflation, which money is laundered for globalists agendas instead of for real humanitarian aid in the bogus war between Ukraine and Russia.
Anyway people who STILL follow the mainstream media at this point are idiots.

Anyway people who STILL follow the mainstream media at this point are idiots. The possibility that the Democratic Party retains (and perhaps even extends) their control of the Senate is growing. What is the likelihood of another Supreme Court vacancy before the 2024 election? The previous administration had an unusually large number of Judicial appointments at the federal level and SCOTUS for only being in office for 4 years. Senator Graham's national abortion ban further complicates optics of social conservatives in office for this election. The question for the undecided may be, "I thought this issue was about States' Rights". Some candidates who previously supported a national ban leading up to and immediately after the Dobbs ruling have attempted to walk back or downplay their stance for political damage control reasons.
On the other hand, if the Republican Party were to gain the majority of both houses of Congress, Biden would essentially be a lame duck for the remainder of the term.

There were so many other ways of dealing with the issues and instances around abortion that were indeed problematic. It sounds as though you think the decision was purposefully orchestrated. Who do you think is behind it? It sounds as though you think the Democrats are behind it. If the war is bogus, how do you suggest real humanitarian aid be delivered? Do you think real humanitarian aid should be delivered? What news sources can you point me to for some alternative facts?

libtardYes I do think it was purposefully orchestrated. It was a backwards move for a Western nation and they're increasing across the board. I think those behind it are those who are truly running the country and likely are part of the globalist agenda. They're creating division and instability as it keeps the masses preoccupied and dumb. The Democrat party is certainly the most captured. Captured by those who truly run the US. US took forever to give aid to their own people during C19 yet right now they're approving spend every other week in a "war" that cannot be won. I do not think humanitarian aid should be delivered. US has its own issues it should focus on but ofcourse that is not part of the agenda. I'll put some stuff up on the weekend when I have time.

What substance would that have been (months ago) that is absent recently? The back forth of discussion, which (admittedly) we've briefly had interspersed within the pages and pages of libtard "doomposting" the anti-abortion fallout news articles. AS I come for discussion, not news postings, I've been tuning the thread out.
